MS Rosesol is ready for service!
On 5 May 2022, GulenSkyss took over the new ambulance boat MS Rosesol from Måløy Verft. This is the first of two ambulance boats to be contracted for Helse Førde. MS Rosesol will be stationed at Hardbakke in Solund municipality.
The ambulance boat's operational area is from Gulen in the south to Atløy in the north. The boat is 23 meters long, 7.8 meters wide and has a top speed of 32 knots. On the roof, the boat has a winch area where patients can be lifted up in a helicopter, alternatively a doctor can be brought on board. The treatment room is 32 m2 and is equipped with two stretcher places. This makes it possible to serve two patients at the same time.
The vessel is among the largest and most modern ambulance boats built here in Norway. Great emphasis has been placed on good seaworthiness in bad weather so that patients and crew will feel safe on board. In addition, the vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation equipment for safe operation in all weather conditions.
GulenSkyss looks forward to operating an ambulance boat in our local area for the next 10 years. Ambulance operation at sea is a very important service for people on the coast, and we are happy to be able to offer a safe and good service.
We thank Helse Førde for the trust they have given us and Måløy Verft for a well-executed mission.
