GulenSkyss AS
GulenSkyss was started as a sole proprietorship in 1971 under the name Per Vold Rederi. In 2002, the company was changed to a limited company and the new name became Gulen Skyssbåtservice AS. In connection with route expansion and reorganization of the shipping company, the company changed its name to GulenSkyss AS in 2014.
GulenSkyss is now a modern shipping company that operates fast boats, ferries and ambulance boats on the Westland coast.
In December 2024, Florø Skyssbåt was merged with Gulen Skyss
Florø Skyssbåt AS was founded in 2003 by Frode Valvik and Paal Skorpen, but the company's history goes back to the 1950s.
The shipping company is an important player in Kinn municipality with its extensive coastline and its many island communities.
After the merger, Florø Skyssbåt, with its vessels and employees, will become part of GulenSkyss. With this, the shipping company strengthens its position as an important player in passenger transport in Western Norway.
