GulenSkyss enters into a contract with Fjellstrand AS for the construction of an electric ferry

GulenSkyss has today signed a contract with the local shipyard Fjellstrand AS for the construction of a new and modern electric ferry.

The shipyard is known for its strong focus on sustainability, the environment and innovation. We are both proud and pleased to be able to build the vessel locally – together with a player who shares our values. 

The new vessel will have very low energy consumption and has been developed with optimal operation and environmental friendliness in mind. The ferry is specially adapted for the Breistein – Valestrand route, where it will be put into operation from November 29, 2027. It will have the capacity to transport up to 50 cars and will ensure an efficient, safe and comfortable travel experience for all travelers on the route. 

The contract extends over 15 years, and GulenSkyss looks forward to delivering a stable and high-quality transport service throughout the entire period.
